So much to tell!

I will skip trying to summarize the last month of our summer. Suffice it to say, we had a good one!  Here we are on Sami's first day of 1st grade!  She was so excited!  

Sami and her best friend Brinn got two different teachers this year, which was hard for them at first, but they have since found there is plenty of time to spend together at lunch and recess.  It has also forced Sam to make more friends within her classroom, which is a good thing too.  Sami LOVES her wonderful teacher, and is getting excellent scores on all her work.  She is a great reader, and even does her homework without much complaining!

I enrolled her in an after school art class one day a week, and she really seems to get a kick out of it.  She is also still taking classical ballet.  Nutcracker auditions were a few weeks ago, and Miss Sami got the part she wanted (A Mouse!) this year.  Practices started this weekend already, and continue pretty much every Saturday thru Thanksgiving.

I took this picture more recently, just before we left for a birthday party.  Sami is looking so grown up now, she really has become a little girl instead of a baby. (sniff!)  I do like this stage in her life too, watching her learn so much every day.  I could live without the occasional sassy attitude I have been on the receiving end of...  but we are working on that!  I am told it all comes with the territory though.  Was sitting with some other moms during Sami's dance class last week, and we were laughing because we had all just described the same things that our daughters had been doing to make us nuts!  Nice to know I am not the only one..

SO we are back in the swing of school/work/activities, etc.  We are busy decorating the house for Halloween already!  This year, Sam and I are going to be Mother/daughter Vampires.  I will have to start taking more pictures and posting more often - Thanks to all of you who still check in on us!  

I leave you with a picture of Sami's kitten(?) who is growing like a weed!  We are loving having cats again and our dog Bella seems to really like her new little friends!
